Police Reports for Week Ending 1/25/26

Van Alstyne Assistant Police Chief Steven Hayslip reported on the fewer-than-usual incidents that have occurred since January 19. Most of these days have been filled with rain, sleet, snow, and icy roadways.
This reporter receives the daily Grayson County Jail book-in list and for the past two days, there have been only four jailed Sunday and three on Monday.
ARREST
January 23 – A while back, someone contacted the Van Alstyne Police regarding an individual harassing and threatening a person at an unnamed location inside Van Alstyne city limits. Police went, investigated, and determined that a Greenville resident did act in a harassing manner and made threats against another. They issued a warrant for her arrest.
She was arrested in Hunt County, for which Greenville is the county seat and from which the suspect resides. GCSO Capt. Mark Kosemund said that it was Hunt County Sheriff’s Office that brought her to Grayson County Jail. That was on January 23 and she remains incarcerated on the two charges: Terroristic Threat to Cause Fear of Imminent Serious Bodily Injury and Harassment, with bail having been set at $3,000.
WRECKS
January 22 — About noon, two vehicles collided on U.S. Highway 75. The report indicates it was a rear-end crash causing one vehicle to spin out. Hayslip said there were no injuries.
January 23 – About 1 pm, a vehicle was going south on U.S. 75 when it hit a patch of water and slid into a concrete barriers. No one was injured.
January 24 — About 1:30 pm, two vehicles collided around Stinnett and Dallas streets. The first was moving westward on Stinnett and the second going south on Dallas. The first vehicle crossed the intersection and struck the second one, due to driver inattention, Hayslip said, adding, “The road conditions were icy with snow.” No injuries were reported.
