A band by any other name — The Isle of Metropolis
Written by Mary Jane Farmer on 26 October 2011
This is from a Facebook page, featuring a newly put-together band made of all our old Texoma area friends. Chris said their first gig should be in December and promised to let us know when and where that will be.
The band is made up of Don Hayes, Chris Harrison, Joe Marshall, Marc Wilson, and Landon Myers, all of whom except for Hayes, are also currently with the Casey Daniels Band.
Formed by Chris Harrison and Don Hayes, this band is all about the music.
Both Don and Chris come from musical backgrounds. No matter what they do… They are always drawn back to the music.
Don originally started his music career with a group called Animasoul, then moved to his next band Paint where he wrote all original music for the band… He is workin on his solo album due out sometime this year, 2011.
Chris started back with a band known as D.O.C.., then moved to a band called Fatal Entertainment. He’s made a professional music video, “Crowd Rock,”with a group known as Xtra Fly. Chris has his own solo act, Beatz Filthy, as well. He also plays lead guitar for The Casey Daniels Band… Towards the end of 2010, Don and Chris teamed up with Casey Daniels to start a group with a modern day Beastie Boys sound called Group City.
Now both, Don and Chris have come together again to bring you a new sound, one of island, reggae, pop, and even a little rock, upbeat make-you-feel-good kind of music… and its called Isle of Metropolis.
