It’s been a good week for music lovers at The Texan Theater in Greenville this week, with Tony Ramey, his wife Debbie Money-Ramey, and their daughter, Savannah Ramey, taking the stage Saturday night (Feb. 6), and the on Wednesday, the country music icon John Anderson playing an acoustic set Wednesday, (Feb. 10).

For those who haven’t yet been to the Texan, the concerts are always served with a 4-course meal during the concerts. The ticket cost includes the meals, service, and drinks. Quite a complete experience.

The Tony Ramey family has played The Texan several times, always with a good crowd there for them.

It was the first time for John Anderson, who said from the stage that he hopes to come

back again. They brought with them a three-piece band consisting of bass, guitar, and fiddle. Tony played first, full band, then Debbie joined him. During her portion, she also went into the crowd and sang to many fans at their dinner tables. Lastly, Savannah joined the others on stage. Afterward, they joined fans in the lobby, and sold several of Tony’s newest CD, Soul Survivor.

John Anderson brought with him a long-time guitar picker, Glen, who accompanied the Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Famer through many of his numerous hits, plus some from his latest CD, Goldmine, including the new “Freedom Isn’t Free,” made even more poignant because of the Texas and U.S. flags displayed behind him.

The week isn’t over — Friday night will bring The Fifth Dimension; Saturday features Rita Coolidge; and on Sunday, Matt The Electrician will be entertaining the crowd. Reservations are a must.
