And it will all get told, after I pay the bills (i.e.: keep my bosses happy at my real job).
Here’s the tale I don’t want to tell, but needs to be told:
Stolen equipment
During the nighttime hours between Wednesday night and Thursday morning, somebody, maybe even two somebodies, removed and took two speakers from the acoustic stage at Larry Joe Taylor’s festival in Stephenville. These are valued at around $5,000 total, the owner said.
This theft is something that is most uncommon, even unique, at festival grounds, where trust and respect usually abound both with the audiences and the performers. Tommy Alverson, who hosted the acoustic afternoon stage, set up a tip jar for donations to go to Ray, the owner, to help him with the financial loss.
The speakers are both JBL SRX series 715, said Ray who is continued to do an incredible job with sound in spite of the loss.
There were several different law enforcement agencies working at the festival who searched for them and the theft was reported to the Erath County Sheriff’s Office.
If anyone has information on these speakers, that person is urged to call the festival office at 254-968-8505, or the Erath County Sheriff’s Office, 254-965-3337.
I’ve got hundreds of pix from Larry Joe Taylor Festival and the last three Shiner Sundays at L&W in Texas to post.
This one’s a teaser pic. Can you tell me her name? No, seriously. I don’t know her name. She plays fiddle with Mark McKinney band. No prizes, by the way.
Please check in daily.
