Tony Ramey and his guitar=slinging sidekick, Scott Cowan, played a recent (Jan. 25) Thursday night at One Eyed Jack Saloon in Whitewright. This is a small and friendly bar with one pool table, an outdoor patio that opens into the main room and hosts horseshoe pits, and a corner stage that has brought other greats into the small Grayson County town for concerts.

Tony and Scott put on a two-hour, break-free set. Tony on mostly originals and a few  crowd-pleasing covers, Scott on guitar and cajon. Tipper McNatt, of the trio Tipper, Rocko, Bryan which took 2nd place this year in Hank‘s Open Mic challenge, put a few harmonies on some songs, sharing Scott’s mic. There was also another sit-in, name never obtained.

The bartenders also got into the act, donning their free Tony Ramey T-shirts, and promised they’d wear them again this coming Saturday night.

Tony will be back at One Eyed Jack this coming Saturday night, Feb. 8, with his full band and that kicks off at 9:30 p.m. Yeah, cowboy boots are in style here, fit right in on the dance floor.

One Eyed Jack is on U.S. Highway 69, north of the 4-way stop sign of U.S. 69 and SH 56.
