Country Showdown kicks off May 1
It’s time again for the national Country Showdown music contest. Artists can compete as an individual singer, a duo or such, or full band, and they all compete without divisions. The contests will be held at Choctaw Casino in Grant, Okla.

McKinney’s Crystal Yates was last year’s winner, collecting a grand prize of $100,000 after beating out thousands of other musicians from across the nation. She entered through K95.5 Continuous Country radio station.
The first round locally will be May 14, with following rounds on May 28, June 11 in the River Bar & Grill inside Choctaw Casino, Grant, Okla., and the finals on June 27 at the casino’s Event Center.
